It only takes a second for someone to paint a picture of you inside their head Based on what they already know, based on what they see Regardless of details overlooked, invisible or hiding in shadows But you never see it all the first time First impressions / Second guesses Wearing our masks with our best foot forward A summary of the best of the text The best of the text Use all preparation and keep integrity They’re the best tools at your disposal Remember first impressions determine direction and momentum It’s a delicate balancing act in our superficial world Broken glass isn’t fixed too easily It’s an uphill battle to reverse the gravity First impressions / Second chances Start off on the wrong foot / Unlucky circumstances Seeking forgiveness / Rebuilding trust Rebuilding Trust Standing at the plate there’s no time to explain Act as rehearsed or start to Seeimprovise It’s an uphill battle to reverse the gravity Pressure builds from increasing weight Under the scrutiny of judgemental eyes Every action has potential to seal fate First impressions / Second guesses Wearing our masks with our best foot forward A summary of the best of the text First impressions / Second chances Starting on the wrong foot / Unlucky circumstances Seeking forgiveness / Rebuilding trust Rebuilding trust

The Fear 01:05
Every year the winter tries to kill us After we get used to the warmth And we know exactly what’s coming but we try to prepare As the days get shorter and so much colder At about this time I get terrified At about this time I ask myself: Why do we live here? Why do we live here? Why do we live here? Why do we live here? Why do we live here? Why do we live here? Why do we live here? Cuz it’s our home! Cuz it’s our home! And a couple of snow mounds and icy roads won’t take us away From the land that makes us who we are Every year winter tries us like a test All we have to do is just resist Till the light of spring comes & we can finally hang up our coats And we’ll be OK for another 6 months or so

Blackbird 02:10
Blackbird singing in the dead of night Spread those broken wings and learn to fly All your life You were only waiting for this moment to arise Blackbird singing in the dead of night Take those sunken eyes and learn to see All your life You were only waiting for this moment to be free Blackbird fly Blackbird fly Into the light of a dark black night Blackbird singing in the dead of night Spread those broken wings and learn to fly All your life You were only waiting for this moment to arise Blackbird fly Blackbird fly Into the light of a dark black night Blackbird singing in the dead of night Take those sunken eyes and learn to see All your life You were only waiting for this moment to be free You were only waiting for this moment to be free You were only waiting for this moment to be free You were only waiting for this moment to be free

Push 04:06
It’s that push that lifts and leaves enough room for the oxygen to breath And feed those flames that fuel that push that lifts and leaves enough room for the oxygen to breath And feed those flames that fuel that push Sometimes it hurts and goes away / Sometimes it leaves a mark to stay Holding together, holding forever it seems As it doesn’t always get easier Heavy weights can drag us down / Hard hits will take their toll What doesn’t kill us makes us stronger and that’s exactly how it works We always find a way to heal We always find a way to fuel … That push that lifts and leaves enough room for the oxygen to breath And feed those flames that fuel that push That lifts and leaves enough room for the oxygen to breath And feed those flames that fuel that push I haven’t felt pain like this in years Tension breaks releasing tears The anxiety and the confusion can turn into a lifelong delusion If you can’t wait out the storm It rains and rains and rains for days You’re choked up on your mistakes When those dark grey clouds have passed You’ll find once again what it takes to feed that push / to fuel … That push that lifts and leaves enough room for the oxygen to breath And feed those flames that fuel that push That lifts and leaves enough room for the oxygen to breath And feed those flames that fuel that push Sometimes it hurts and goes away Sometimes it leaves a mark to stay Holding together, holding forever it seems As it doesn’t always get easier Your strength – it always comes from within Sometimes you need a little help finding it We may not always see a clear reflection from our perspective but Our friends know us better than we know ourselves Our friends know us better than we know ourselves Our friends know us better than we know ourselves Our friends always know just how to find … That push that lifts and leaves enough room for the oxygen to breath And feed those flames that fuel that push That lifts and leaves enough room for the oxygen to breath And feed those flames that fuel that push That lifts and leaves enough room for the oxygen to breath And feed those flames that fuel that push That lifts and leaves enough room for the oxygen to breath And feed those flames that fuel that push

As the raindrops hit my skin I’m starting to believe that this isn’t the place No it isn’t the place, the place I wanna be I’ve got some things to ponder, some places I’d like to wander I’m not trying to get lost, I’m not trying to get found I just can’t bear stickin around And I know I can’t hide from life / but I can keep running And I know I can’t hide from life / so I’ll try to keep running And I know I can’t hide from life / so I’m gunna keep running Please grant me the power to change the things I don’t like Also the power to accept the things that I can’t change and THEN it’s up to me to learn the difference between the two The difference between the two At times when life just don’t make sense Tales are born for self defense There’s a hundred ways to explain life’s suspenseful events At times when life just don’t make sense Tales are told for self defense There’s a million ways to explain life’s suspenseful events Life’s suspenseful events Life’s suspenseful events Life’s suspenseful events

So much focus on appearance today The value of substance is going away We don’t see the problem because we dress it up We don’t see it as a problem because we dress it up For presentation Strike a pose at the barrel of a gun Stare death in the eye / Make a face just for fun Is it worth the pain for the vanity? And the sacrifice of our sanity? Suits and uniforms distinguish our roles Status stitched into clothes But fancy clothes don’t fill voids or holes They patch them up just like trapping pits Like trapping pits Money is wasted on ink and materials For cosmetic purposes for packaging the product For packaging the product Strike a pose at the barrel of a gun Stare death in the eye / Make a face just for fun Is it worth the pain for the vanity? And the sacrifice of our sanity? of our sanity!

Millions of litres burn every day Animals lose their place to stay Oil spills poison our water And it kills the environment CO2 levels are at peak heights Protected parks are losing their rights It’s no surprise extinction’s on the rise Earth pays the price for us to live nice It’s such a shame how profit gets in the way Scientists can find a way / Living creatures don’t get a say When conscious inconsiderate decisions Rule the fate of the world How much money does it take to forget? How much money does it take to turn a blind eye? We’re picking fights with Mother Nature We can’t win / We can’t run / we can’t hide! What are we gonna do when she fights back?

At the end of the tunnel There’s a man who guards the door And if you can’t avoid him He’ll hunt you down, catch you up drag you back, toss you in slam the door, lock it up and throw away the key! We’re screaming in the dark Screaming in the dark We’re screaming in the dark Screaming in the dark We’re screaming in the dark Screaming in the dark We’re screaming in the dark We're screaming in the dark He just wants to watch you rot in his can It’s all part of his sadistic plan . I don’t think we’re ever getting out of here So we’re screaming in the dark We’re screaming in the dark

Beducation 03:39
Thousands of kids stay home from school today Cuz their parents feel the new curriculum is the wrong way To teach about safe sex, transgenderism, homosexuality, and consent The kids will learn to hate if they’re not taught to understand why This education starts too late and we must not deny That abstinence from school is not the way to learn They’ll figure it out themselves; they’ll have nowhere else to turn They’ll see it in the media / They’ll find it online They’ll feel it in their bodies through intimate interaction They’re gonna do it anyway They’re gonna do it anyway Curiosity doesn’t dissipate when it’s not satisfied Temptation only grows stronger the tighter the leash gets tied They’re gonna do it anyway They’re gonna do it anyway No matter what you do or say They’re gonna do it anyway You don’t own your child / She’s born into the wild Free to make her own choices and choose her experience Soon she’ll get the itch and if she starts from scratch Her uninformed trials and error just might leave a scar They’re not learning about evil / They’re learning about people And things that exist naturally in the world People who have feelings / People who want love
